Our Story
It all started in 2006 when our founder, Clint Lewis, adopted a shelter dog named Castor. Like any pet parent, Clint wanted to give Castor the healthiest food possible. However, Clint was disappointed with the options on the market. Most commercial pet foods contained fillers, artificial flavors, and questionable ingredients.
Clint knew he could make better food for Castor. So he started developing pet food recipes in his home kitchen using human-grade organic ingredients. The results were amazing. Castor’s health and vitality improved dramatically on this fresh, wholesome diet.
Encouraged by Castor’s transformation, Clint partnered with pet nutrition experts to expand the homemade recipes into a full line of natural pet food. He named the company after his beloved dog and his new canine companion Pollux.
In 2008, Castor & Pollux was officially born. We started selling our pet foods online and in independent pet stores across the U.S.
We quickly earned a reputation for producing high-quality nutrition from organic, non-GMO, and ethically raised ingredients. Pet parents saw the difference these premium foods made for the health and happiness of their furry family members.
As demand grew, we expanded our product offerings beyond dog and cat food to include treats, supplements, and other natural pet care products.

Our Giving Back Program
Giving back is one of our core values at Castor & Pollux. We believe caring for communities and animals goes hand-in-hand with caring for pets.
That’s why we started the Good Buddy Fund in 2010. This program allows us to donate pet food, funds, and volunteer support to animal shelters and rescue groups across North America.
Each year, we donate over 300,000 meals to pets in need through our shelter feeding program. We also sponsor adoption events, provide grants for medical care and facility improvements, and take part in fundraising initiatives.
Our employees can volunteer up to 10 hours per month to support local animal welfare organizations during work time. We also match employee donations dollar-for-dollar.
The Good Buddy Fund enables us to spread our love and care to even more pets who need it. This expands our mission beyond premium food to make a direct impact in local communities.
